VIP-IP is a powerful Video Image Processing (VIP) module that is used for:
- traffic monitoring,
- automatic incident detection,
- traffic data collection
Video images from network cameras serve as the input for VIP-IP. Different image processing algorithms run in parallel in order to deliver a multi-functional detector board. VIP-IP allows selecting the required functions, depending on the application or relating to (the limitations of) the camera position.
This VIP technology provides real-time data and image information for optimal traffic control and fast, accurate incident detection.

Capture streaming video from IP cameras
VIP-IP can connect to a broad range of IP cameras, supporting both MPEG-4 and new H.264 video compression schemes.
Provide real-time streaming video over IP
Using MPEG-4 or H.264 video compression technology, VIP-IP can provide real-time video streams over the network, with traffic detection information included. VIP-IP uses standard Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) for delivering video at full frame rate.
Pre and post incident image sequences
VIP-IP provides digital recording of pre- and post incident video sequences. Incidents detected by VIP-IP automatically trigger the recording process.
All video decoding and encoding is done entirely in hardware, to allow for maximum video detection performance.
SCALABLE SYSTEM, OPEN ARCHITECTURE AND MODULAR SET-UP
VIP-IP has been developed to deliver automatic incident detection in tunnel or outdoors, traffic data collection or vehicle presence detection in combination with streaming video over IP for centralised and decentralised systems.
Its open architecture and modular setup provides a scalable and expandable system.
