Vehicle presence detection
VIP/P monitors the presence of vehicles approaching or waiting at the intersection. It provides this presence information to the traffic controller via optically isolated open-collector outputs or a serial line.

Counts
In case of an optimal camera position, the VIP/P counts the number of vehicles passing over a detection zone for up to 6 lanes.

Queue length measurement
VIP/P provides an indication on the length of the queue formed by waiting vehicles as a feedback to the controller. In this way, the combination of presence information, counts and queue length measurement delivers all information needed for an optimal flow control.

One VIP/P board covers 24 detection zones, which are direction sensitive. All zones and parameters can be changed without interrupting detection. The user can easily specify several configuration and detection parameters. He can even decide on the amount of information to be displayed on the monitor.

All of these options are available via an extremely user-friendly, menu-driven set-up procedure using a VIP keypad or portable PC. The convenience of a remote set-up via the Ethernet communication module is also possible.
