The VIP/I combines indoor/outdoor traffic flow monitoring and automatic incident detection functionality all in one single board.

During set-up, the user can easily specify the type of event for which he wants to trigger an alarm (In case an alarm is generated, a corresponding output immediately becomes activated.). He can define under what conditions to do so. He can even decide on the amount of information to be displayed on the monitor.

All of these options are available via an extremely user-friendly, menu-driven set-up procedure using a VIP keypad or portable PC. The convenience of a remote set-up via the Ethernet communication module or VIEWCOM, WATTS(+)and the Traficon TMS PC software is also possible.

Automatic Incident Detection (AID)
One of the strongest characteristics of video detection is its really fast detection. The VIP/I detects vehicles stopping in the detection area within seconds.

The VIP/I automatically generates alarms for a wide range of events. Reported alarm events include:

• stopped vehicle
• wrong-way drive
• smoke and fire
• queue
• speed drop

Up to 8 detection groups can be placed within the monitored area.

Flow Monitoring
The VIP/I monitors both the traffic flow speed and the zone occupancy for up to 8 lanes. It automatically distinguishes 5 types of traffic flow (levels of service) based on flow speed and zone occupancy.

Within seconds the VIP/I board detects wrong-way drivers or sudden speed variations.
