After successfully leading the company for almost 20 years, founder of Traficon Jo Versavel (67) has decided to step aside to start preparing his retirement. Traficon’s current Sales Director, Lode Caenepeel (46), has been appointed to be the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as of January 2010.

Jo Versavel about his walk of life at Traficon:

“After 17 wonderful years leading Traficon as its CEO, I have decided the time is right to move into a free, more independent role within the company I founded. This means, of course, that Traficon will have a new CEO. Moving into that role is Lode Caenepeel, Traficon's current Sales Director.

I step aside knowing Traficon is in great hands. Lode has a deep belief in the power of our objective to be the worldwide N°1 in Traffic Video Detection. He inherits a focused company ready for big things. We have great products (have you seen our SafeWalk yet?) brought to the market by a team of talented employees around the world. And of course we have fantastic customers, the people for whom we work so hard to make great products.

Over the years I have been fortunate to meet many interesting people. I have traveled far and wide to tell our story and have listened to stories from partners, clients, users, etc. Hearing these stories and learning from all of you has enriched my life beyond all measure. You have motivated and inspired me. For that, I offer my most humble thanks. Traficon has been, and shall always be, an important part of my life. “

Lode Caenepeel about his new challenge as CEO:

“I can only have deep respect and be extremely grateful for all the pioneering work Jo has done in making Traficon the renowned company it is today. So for me personally after more than 8 years in Sales in Traficon, it is an honor to serve as the new CEO. I am really looking forward to leading this fantastic company in the next decades.

Even during the turbulent year 2009 with the economic recession we were able to get a double digit growth for Traficon. The challenge is to keep bringing innovative solutions for safer and smoother traffic to our existing and new customers worldwide. As such, we can ensure a steady growth for Traficon in the coming years.  “ 

New Sales Director 

Mr. Stefaan Pinck, working for Traficon since 1999 in different job functions such as Field Projects Manager, Product Manager, Business Development Manager and International Sales Manager, is appointed to be the new Sales Director.
